Relief Veterinarian & Speaker:
Passionate about making a positive impact in veterinary medicine one patient, one clinic, one audience at a time.
Hello! I am a 2016 WSU Graduate who has been practicing companion animal medicine including limited pocket pets and emergency medicine. I believe in a focus on relationship-centered care for patients, their owners, and respect of team members at all levels. Integrity, safety, compassion and quality are the core values by which I practice veterinary medicine. To me, veterinary medicine is a blend of advocating for pet's needs, working within the owners' abilities, and finances. I strive to provide gold-standard care for all my patients, while making sure it is realistic for the owners lifestyle, as well as, their pocket-book.
As a speaker and mentor in the veterinary community I am committed to sharing my story as a veterinarian and helping others create happiness & reach their personal and professional goals. We have a great profession and industry, the sky is the limit.
Alex McCormick, DVM
Valley Veterinary Clinic
Dr. Bowden is a wonderful colleague and veterinarian. She truly believes in the human-animal bond and ensures every client feels comfortable with the treatment plan for their pet while treating each pet as if they were her own. She truly embraces Fear Free techniques and has an amazing ability to make pets feel at ease. She is thorough and decisive in working up cases while always keeping the best interest of the pet and client in mind. She is truly a caring veterinarian with impeccable bedside manner and a healing touch.
Jessica Work, DVM
Pet Emergency Center
With her confidence in management of basic emergencies/urgent care as well as more complicated medicine cases, major trauma cases and those needing surgical intervention, Dr. Bowden has been a reliable relief resource for our busy small animal ER service. Also, as a Fear Free Certified practitioner, she comes with the added bonus of a gentle approach to patient handling – an underutilized asset in the ER setting. Her charting is complete and succinct, making it easy to follow her cases’ progression throughout their stay in our facility. I would highly recommend Dr. Bowden for her relief services and hope to have her join us again for our relief needs in the future!
Lydia Gentry, DVM
Fairwood Animal Hospital
Dr. Bowden is our favorite relief veterinarian. She is extremely competent, efficient, and capable of handling our large and often unpredictable caseload. She works well with our staff. I find her to be very personable. Our clients love her and she communicates with us regarding ongoing cases in the days following her shifts here. She is responsive and always happy to follow up if needed.
I believe in practicing medicine with mutual respect, compassion and open mindedness. As a relief veterinarian you have to learn to adapt to various practice styles and teams. I always work to check my ego at the door, as everyone has something to teach and learn.
I treat my team members and clients with respect and hope to provide compassionate care & make strong connections along the way.
